Thanks to the parents, athletes and volunteers that helped support the event! Waunakee raised $4,800 for the Club at the tournament.

The Badger Wrestling Club is teaming up with the Waunakee Wrestlebackers for two kids tournaments December 31. A K-6 Challenge (5 man round robin) and Youth Duals (grades 5-8). Badger coaching staff and UW wrestlers will serve as officials and clinicians. They will also be signing autographs. Proceeds will benefit the Badger Wrestling Club.

Thanks to all who supported Golf Outing

For the first time ever, the Badger Wrestling Club is coming to Western Wisconsin with its “prodigal son” returning! Trevor Brandvold, a River Falls native, will be among the Badgers at the Golf Outing fundraiser Sep. 24. He’s been working hard as a competitive athlete and volunteer assistant coach, thanks to the support of the Club.

Trevor looks at the Golf Outing as a way to give back to his home region. “My goal is to help and provide every opportunity possible for young wrestlers in Wisconsin, and especially Western Wisconsin, to achieve their dreams of winning State Titles and moving on to wrestle in college!”

Here’s your chance to help the wrestlers like Trevor Brandvold - and the next generation of kids on the mat - as the Badger Wrestling Club looks to enhance the quality of wrestling in the state of Wisconsin.

We go In The Room with Olympic Silver Medalist Russ Helickson at the Steak Fry. In a one-on-interview at the 2011 Steak Fry, Hellickson talks about the differences in technique over the years, why he doesn’t like international rules and why wrestlers seem to always have daughters.

It was another successful Kalscheur Steak Fry! Special thanks to Steve and Jim Kalscheur thanks for their continued support of the Badger Wrestling Club and Wisconsin Wrestling. MC Duane Kleven showed – in addition to his legendary coaching skills – he’s not to shabby on the mic. Fellow members of the UW family Bret Bielema and Mike Eaves also lent a hand.

It was a perfect day on the beautiful Kalscheur farm with a crowd of about 150 people, including Wisconsin Wrestling legends Lee Kemp, Jim Haines and Russ Helickson.

Thanks most of all to you who attended, donated and participated in the auction/raffle. The Club is happy to say we netted more than $26,000 from the event. Only with your continued support, can we give our athletes the resources to fulfill their Olympic dreams.

In The Room: Single leg set-ups and front headlocks

In the Room gives you glimpse of a May 2011 clinic with Kyle Ruschell and Kyle Massey. Ruschell shows a single leg set up and Massey shows a front headlock tecnique.

Clinic took place at the Cardinal Takedown Tourney, Middleton High School.
